Hi Sharon,

I have had lots of blood tests! My hb is high, but it always has

been, I have borderline igg antibodies anticardiolipin for aps, but

because I have had no clinical events (blood clots) they say I don't

have aps. My c-reactive protein has been elevated. I have been tested

for lyme, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus.

I have had chest x rays, spinal x-rays, hip x-rays. The hip x-rays

showed that both of my hips are shallow, but it is considered they

wouldn't cause the problems I have with my hips and back.

I am waiting for the results of a ct scan on my lower back.

Medication wise I take tramadol, celebrex, ranitidine and paroxetine.

My most prominent problem is back, hip and leg pain, foot drop and

dragging my right leg, along with the odd sensations in that leg. One

of the most distressing problems I get is coming out with the wrong

word or not being able to find my words.

If I sneeze or cough I get and odd sensation running down both legs.

I see my neuropsychologist in august for the first time, but we are

in contact by telephone. She is a lecturing consultant, she is in

London at the moment giving lectures. I feel very lucky that she has

taken me on.

My rheumy is a gem and I wouldn't swap her for the world.

Hi Sharon and all,

I have tried alot of meds for arthritis as I have a little osteo

arthritis in my uper spine. I have found celebrex to be the most

gentle on my tum. I have had ibruprofen, voltatrol (diclofenac)

arthrotec, vioxx, but in my experiance celebrex is the one for me. I

tolerate the others for a couple of weeks then my stomach rebels big

time. I take ranitidine to help with the nausea I get but I am going

to go on the cinnazrine when I have finished my current course of

ranitidine. Losec is a good tum protection to take if you have a

sensitive tum.

My mri brain scan was clear, that was too and a half years ago. I

have a dodgy rombergs sign, can't stay still with my eyes open let

alone closed!

I live on the Isle of , we live on the eastside which is very

rocky and mountainous(sorry sp). The ocean is just afew steps from

our house. We see the ferry coming in. The west side of is

beautiful beaches and lush meadows where corncrake call.

Hi Bill and all,

Thank you for your lovely messages.

I haven't had a lumber puncture as yet Bill, but I have a feeling it

isn't very far away

I think my neuropsychologist is going to have me in hospital for a

couple of weeks in the not too distant future.

Thanks for your advice re Jooleys joint I will have a look there.

I am going away for a week to yorkshire to stay with my dad. So

farewell for a whilke but not for long.
