Guest guest
Hi Sara, Interesting case. In addition to what others have said: dysbiosis in gut could be reason for strong tastes in mouth as even with all the cleansing she is doing, or trying to do, some things are not being thoroughly digested and therefore not properly absorbed/ released - just a thought. coating on tongue? dysbiosis in gut can be affecting as well as being affected by mental state as for one thing, there are serotonin, dopamine, etc. receptors on the cells in the intestines as well as in the brain. Therefore, as you already know and are doing, aim to heal the intestines. I would suggest among your other choices, consider also slippery elm to soften and sooth ( mental nature as well) and golden seal and an essential fatty acid supplement omega 3 primarily for mucous membranes, for the inflammation. Agree use essential oils as well. Add Flower remedies into her liquid mix. don't forget to concentrate on digestion in mouth and stomach as well as intestines. Chew food well, eat in as positive frame of mind as possible, important to start the whole process off and encourgage complete digestion of foods through system. Incompletely digested food particles irritate tissues of the gut. use digestion aiding herbs/ mild spices. Anxiety, instability - also concentrate on helping her establish regularity in as many aspects of life as she can. as well as simplicity you've already prescribed. Regular meals, bedtimes and rising times, regular times for several daily activities; gentle exercise, or swimming. (calm vata dosha). Can she be diverted into a new activity or interest to take her mind off her past ones? I know this is a complicated history, but just maybe this could be catalyst for new positive feelings about herself. A touch therapy would help, massage or reflexology, to help calm her as well, nourish her from without as food and herbs are from within - difficult as will add to costs, but self massage of feet with lots of warm oil can be very good. Also relaxing herb footbaths. Autogenic training relaxation techniques can be learned and are very good. best wishes, Vicki
