Guest guest
Hi Bill ! Nope, my MS has been behaving. What I thought was MS problems were Basilar Artery Migraines. I will send more on that later to the group. Heat will bring it on though. My cooling vest you don't wet down. You put special "ice" packs in it. The IN MS society would pay you back if you got one, I bet. It's a DME (durable medical equipment.) Call them and ask about a cooling vest and the bike you want. You can email them if you'd rather. I got my vest at www.coolsport.net. I got the classic vest. What I do is I wear a tank top or a t-shirt under the vest then a shirt of some kind over the vest. I usually wear a button up type shirt. We have a cooler just for the "ice" packs that goes over the handle bars of my wheelchair when I use it. I take it with me everywhere now. Some of the stores are just too hot so I go back out to my Tracker and get the vest. I'd rather have it than not. I keep the outer shirt and the vest in the back of my Tracker at all times now. That way I won't forget them. Which I have before...lol Something funny is I wore the vest to Chuck E Cheese's last month. I don't know if you're familiar with E. Washington St and 465 area. It's not the best area. But an employee there asked me if it was a bullet proof vest....LOLOLOLOL I had to get on the manager there to turn on the AC. OUr waitress had to take her insulin earlier cause it was so hot in there. The manager wasn't going to let her take a break to do it. I got HOT more ways than one when I heard that. I stayed on the manager's tail until he went to the thermostat to turn ON the AC. He didn't even have it on. I trailed him for 5 minutes then he realized I was serious.....lol I told him he's going to have 2 maybe 3 ambulances and the police by my request if he didn't turn it on and make it comfortable for the guests...lol I hardly ever get that pissed off but he was maybe 5'3", cocky and liked to boss people around, especially the females. I wasn't his employee so I wasn't scared...lol I stared at him through the window to the back to get him to comply. It was THAT uncomfortable in there. People in our party were just laughing cause they knew I was on a mission....lol I got a standing ovation when we heard it come on....lol I digress....lol I hope you could get a bike to see your son play ball. That's sad his coach is late. That hurts the kids. There's a couple in the neighborhood who have a 3 wheeled bike and they are recumbant. I would like to get a bike some day too when I get my strength back. I have an excersize bike I need to ride first...lol ShirleyBill wrote: Hi Shirley I was wondering if you were having trouble with you MS, I am glad to hear you were on a trip. Has the heat been causing troubles with your MS? I have learned to limit my time being out in the heat. One of the ladies brought her cooling vest to the MS meeting last night, it was the first time I had seen one up front. I have seen them in catalogs before. She demonstrated how it work and it was easy. She says it stays cool for several hours and you just use water to get it cold. She did not show us her vest until late in the meeting. I was surprise I just thought it was typical clothing she was wearing. I asked Sharon Lime if she thought the MS Society would consider a 3 wheeled bicycle as a durable type item for my MS and she thought if I could get my neurologist to write up a prescription for it they my get it for me. That would really make my day if I could get one. I would love to ride a bike again plus my 6 year old is finally riding a bike now and I would like to ride with the boys and my Judy. I to a couple of my sons T-ball games and ended up just staying for one inning so I could see him hit a ball. They only play 2 maybe 3 innings depending on how fast the kids are hitting. The YMCA limits how long they can play. s coach is always late getting to the game so that causes a delay how long they play also. Guest guest
Hi Shirley My wife Judy had 3 vans full of people from her work on Friday and they went to the Indianapolis Zoo, she said they were on 465 when all of a sudden 3 sporty cars zipped past everyone. Judy said a few miles up the road traffic came to a complete stop and 1 cop had all 3 of those drivers pulled over. My wife Judy said she laughed as they drove them. I told Judy most likely they were going to the motor speedway. Judy and I when we were first married lived at 33rd and Post Rd for 3 years, we then rented that home out several more years until we finally sold it. We know the Eastside on Indy well plus all of Judy's family live on the east side except for her sister Candi and they live in Greenfield. When I first moved to Indianapolis after high school I lived on the westside of Indy. I lived at Fishermans Village off of Crawfordsville Rd for 3 years, I loved that apartment. The westside of Indianapolis is my favorite section of Indianapolis and still wish we lived there. We own the home in New Castle where Judy's grandparents lived for many years. I think if I could get the bike I will go that route first, I saw a 3 wheeled bike on the net that sells for about $400. Walmart has a cheaper one but just a 220 weight limit. I am around 200 maybe 220 it has been a while since I weighed myself. I would be pushing the limit riding that bike. A fellow at Thursday MS meeting suggested I try a girls bike since I would not have to raise my leg over a male style of a bike. I will try his suggestion but I know since I have no balance I would be in trouble if I had to stop to get off. Was your husband with you at Chuck e Cheese? did he put his hand over his eye's and say there goes Shirley that guy is in big trouble. Ha Ha that probably was funny to see you go after that guy. Do you remember Ferrels being in Indianapolis? That place was always a lot of fun. I met a group of people there when I was single and we had a fun time having a food fight. Ferrels was famous for the Ice Cream Pig Trough. Bill Re: Hi Shirley Hi Bill ! Nope, my MS has been behaving. What I thought was MS problems were Basilar Artery Migraines.
