Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I posted. I've had my hands so full. Dad is

slowly adjusting to the AL. In scanning through the posts I noticed

someone else's father was having trouble adjusting (sorry I can't

remember who). A friend of mine that used to work in AL said it

takes about 3 months for our LO's to adjust and we are approching

that three month mark with Dad so hang in there.

I got a little shocker when I had to go to the doc last month (I said

it's been a while). He said the tests never confirmed that Dad had a

UTI and that he recovered " too quickly " (maybe in his world) for it

to have been a stroke so he is really baffled by what the cause was

of Dad's hospitalization in January. Dad has an appointment with the

specialist at U of MI in July unless they get a cancellation and can

move him up in the schedule so I will be sure to discuss with her.

Dad was doing so much better at the NH than he is in the AL as far as

physically. It's not anything that the AL is doing (or not doing).

At the NH he was in rehab so he had physical, occupational and some

other kind of therapy everyday. When he was moved to the AL he only

got therapy three times a week but at some point Medicare decided

that he had gotten as good as he will get and said that's the end of

therapy.

The people at the AL have been wonderful. They all say they really

like Dad and that he has a great sense of humor. Wish he had a

little more sense of humor when he is with me.

Well, I've rattled on long enough. I've been taking lessons from

Imogene (just kidding Imogene :-). I love reading your posts. They

always make me smile.

Hugs to all,

Leah
