Guest guest
I have an elderly patient who has had a triple bypass, GCA and polymyalgia rheumatica. She is still on low dose steroids and hypertensive medication. I treat her for dry and fragile skin and diverticular disorder. She has been experiencing severe muscular pain in her lower legs on walking. It sounds like IC and I suggested she ask for a doppler - which she has had done and it's NAD. I've also asked her to ask her GP to tamper with her hypertensive meds and she has stopped the Ca++ channel blocker, she has also stopped alendronic acid [she had a fall and dislocated her shoulder without breaking anything]. She has also had a MRI on her lumbar spine with mild spinal stenosis at L2/3, more prominent at L3/4 and moderately severe at L4/5 which results they say are not significant enough to produce Sxs on walking. She is still getting these pains in her legs, plus a tingling crawling feeling. I don't know why and the mix I gave her [which included Dioscorea, Zanthox and Ginkgo] didn't have any effect. I just feel I am missing something... The GP has told her to 'live with it' Has anybody any inspiration? I would really value anything...
