I always remembered what a Nurse Practioner said to me once about

loosing weight. She said to loose weight to keep at 20 grams of fat a

day. To maintain weight to eat 30 grams of fat a day. When I started

to read fat grams on labels or at Fast food. I would relate the Big

mac as being about 2 DAYS worth of fat. 'that is all I can have for 2

DAYS!!!' It just put things in perspective.

I will have to pick up that book. I have a 1 year old, and I don't

want him to learn that he has to clean the plate. Since I hear so

many people including a few relatives always say to their kids " you

have to eat everything on your plate " or " are you eating what's on

your plate " It just drives me crazy. I have heard that by the age of

5 most kids have lost the ablity to eat when they are hungry, and eat

because they are told to and at certain times of day. I am sure part

of that has to do with School too. They only have set times to eat.

that's my $.02

Beckie who is still working on the 21 day challenge.
