hi susie,

welcome to our family although i am sad that you had to look for us. feel free

to ask any questions, yell, scream, cry, tell stories, whatever you need to help

you thru this ordeal

as for the falling out of bed, there are several reasons, it may happen when

they get up in the middle of the nite and are a little disoriented as to where

they are in the bed and just roll off when they trip to sit up. or another

common thing that lbd patients have is called RLS or RBS, restless leg syndrom,

or restless bed syndrome. the first is where our lo (loved one) legs constantly

move or twitch around at night. or the latter being where the whole body is

twitching and moving, arms may thrash, they may kick and even yell out, and in

doing this not know where they are in the bed. this is just 2 of probalby many

situations that may cause them to fall out of bed. hope this helps, hugs,

sharon m

I'm new -- have been reading through some of the old messages, and see some

about people climbing out of bed. My Dad is still at home alone, but has fallen

out of bed several times . . . that has confused me -- how does one 'fall out of

bed'? Is this something others have found common? I wonder if it's just a

spacial orientation thing - not being aware of where he is in the bed?? Thanks,

Susie
