Many geneticists believe that it is caused by a string of abnormal genes (which is what the chromosomes are made of). There are tests to find abnormal genes, but you gave to know which gene is abnormal because you can only test one at a time. There are millions of genes in our chromosomes so it is impossible to test each and every one. The day should come within the decade when they have the genetic blueprint down pat. I believe then they'll know which genes are responsible for what and they'll be much closer to knowing which genes are responsible for CHARGE.
