Guest guest
I have not used Lobelia much before. I have included it in a formula for asthma and the mix has made a huge difference for the client - she has not needed Salbutamol at all since taking the herbs - whereas her doctor was trying to get her on to a steroid inhaler. There is a lot of information about the maximum Lobelia that should be taken in a week, but what about if its taken over a period of several months - she gets asthma in the winter months. Does anyone have information or experience of this? Cheers
Guest guest
I don't think there is a time limit on its use. Certainly I've used it for as long as necessary - which is often several months and often for patients with asthma might be for most of winter months. Same old principle of minimum effective dose applies - I always give people the lowest dose of anything that is effective for them - and monitor patient as you would with any medicine. I think with Schedule 3 herbs, most people can be quite anxious about using them - not having had much experience (or even none!) while training. The whole concept of potential poison strikes fear into people. Not long after I qualified an experienced herbalist told me not to be unduly anxious but to treat them with respect, as we do with all medicines, and that advice has stuck with me ever since - and has literally saved the lives of a number of people when fear might have stopped me using the very thing they needed (pre email and forum days). Think about what your patient needs. Sounds like you've done great job for them. Work on background health so you can gradually reduce all herbs and get him/her as healthy as poss without any sort of meds. They can come back for more as necessary in the future. best wishes and happy new year > > I have not used Lobelia much before.
