Hi!

Jim is home today. He came home from the nh on Thursday and is staying until

Saturday. He is not coming home for the weekend as usual, because I am going out

with my daughters and my mother on Mother's Day and we are going to a fine

restaurant. Jim is eating with fingers now, ocassionally with a fork, but it is

however he desires and I never know how he will eat and it wouldn't look so good

in this restaurant if he's using his fingers. So, he will be in the nh on

Sunday. I felt it would be a long stretch for him if he had to wait until the

following weekend to come home, so brought him home for these few days. I have

had him home twice within this last week, since he came home last weekend and

went back to the nh on Monday and came home again yesterday, on Thursday. It's a

bonus for both of us. Yesterday, he was fidgity, confused and fighting taking

his meds. thinking I was poisoning him. He got so angry, he threw his drink at

me that washes down the meds. I thought

maybe he has a UTI again. He just got over one a few weeks ago when he was on

the antibiotic Septra/Bactrim that I posted to find out about, since he is

usually on Cipro. I bought an Easy Dose Baby Plunger Dispenser for Oral Meds,

which came in handy yesterday to get meds into him. I crushed the pills and put

them in pudding and stuffed it into the plunger and got it into the side of

Jim's mouth and plunged it all in. He couldn't yell with a mouth full of pudding

and pills and had to swallow. He was sleeping like a baby within minutes.

Anyway, he woke up today his usual loving self and pretty much alert and took

his meds. the usual way. I was going to bring him to ER today for a thorough

going over to see if he had a UTI, but today he seems fine, so I didn't bother

bringing him to ER. Must be one of those up and down things, you never know

where they are or what is going on. I don't think he got a nap at the nh. He

sometimes gets weirded out when he doesn't have his naps.

Have a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you mothers............Jan
