You're welcome Meli.

Haven't heard from Kimi in a while...don't know where he's hiding. Probably busy with school and finals.

I know, it seemed like we were stuck at 400 something for a while, and now we're growing by leaps and bounds.

Congrats to adding to your library. Variety is the key.

Hello

Thanks to Cola and Gymmie for their answers.

Have you heard something about Kimi?

I've added new tapes to my collection. The new ones are from the Crunch workout library, plus a basic yoga one that I found in Tower records and the ones my boyfriend gave me a month ago. It's a total of 18 tapes!!!!

hi jolenemy name is mahmoud , im from egypt and had asthma since i was 8 , im 61 now.i heard that flax seed and nigella sativa oils are good for some types of asthma, some guys here got good results on them, ask your doc if they fit your condition, also dont eat too much, a full stomach can interfere with your breathing and try to stay away from pollen and humidity, alway try not going on steroids too much unless

your doc allows it. wishing u the very best.Subject: HelloTo: "asthma " <asthma >Date: Sunday, June 12, 2011, 6:14 PM

Jolene,

So sorry to hear that you have been dealing with asthma since you were five. I

have a similar history, although mine wasn't diagnosed until many years later,

at 30, when my baby was diagnosed with allergy induce bronchial asthma. Then I

realized it was the same thing that has plagued me seasonally most of my life.

Both of my daughters, in their 30's, have this problem, mostly in the Spring,

although alfalfa can bring it on too. If they stay on their allergy control

meds, the asthma is mild and under control. If they blow it off, like my oldest

did one Spring in college, then they are very susceptible to major respiratory

problems like pneumonia, starting with their allergies.

COPD is no laughing matter at your age, or any age. Finding a good

pulmonologist is key is getting control of the problem. It may also help to

avoid known inflammatory foods, practice any breathing exercises that you have

been given, and find a balance of meds that maintain your breathing with the

fewest steroids possible. Sometimes they can't be avoided, but with so many new

medications out there, it's getting easier.

Good luck and welcome.

JoAnn

Hi Chip and welcome to the group. I love your way of describing your asthma. I hope you can find some good information here and I know you'll find support. , Co-ModeratorTo: asthma Sent: Friday, September 2, 2011 10:43 AMSubject: Hello

Hi, my name is Chip and I'm new to this group.

I have been a life long asthmatic with many, many hospitalisations and almost every drug under the sun! I did have a short reprieve with only minor attacks for about 20 years but now it's back! Well and truly back!

I also have Aspergillosis which appears to be in remission at the moment, and bronchiectasis which doesn't bother me too much yet. It is asthma that is causing some concern now and I will admit I've ignored it for several years, fighting aspergillosis took much of my time and effort.

At present my breathing resembles a bag of nails in a metal bucket on the floor of an old steam train! I self nebulise several times a day, I'm on 30mgs of prednisolone at present alone with Seretide and other assorted medical sweeties.

Up until about 3 years ago I was a lecturer in science & music. Unfortunately one cannot lecturer if one cannot get enough breath to speak! So I was kindly let go from my job, and flung out the door via shirt collar and pants!

Since then I have been heavily involved in researching aspergillosis and investigating wet sputum for clearer patient self identification purposes.

But now it is once more my old asthma friend that has returned to haunt me, so I feel it's time I reacquainted myself with the rusty pipe syndrome called asthma!

I am married, male, old and live in Britain's big toe, otherwise known as Cornwall.

I hope I may be able to learn more from this site as I don't intend allowing the asthma to beat me, I have a wife for that!

Cheers, Mike (Chip) Chapman

Cornwall. UK
