Guest guest
Hae you ever noticed whether those coughing fits follow after you have eaten someting with sugar in it? Sometimes sugar will make my throat itch on one side and I end up coughing my fool head off for several minutes to the point where I almost throw up. Had another coughing fit that has left my throat STILL sore (that's how badly I was coughing). I'm back up to 50mg prednisone with a request for a refill to taper down after the next 4-5 days' burst. i also have a request out to the doc for a referral to a pulmonologist. I'm sick of this already. I want to not have these coughing fits that aggravate the asthma. I also don't want to have to take more time off to go to the doctor, but that's not looking like it'll be an option. I'm so nervous about what this all means. bleh. > >~~
Guest guest
I tend to avoid sugar in general as I was a sugar addict, so that's not it at all. I'm not sure what's triggering it and that makes it all the more frustrating. Last night when it happened I was doing self-care. I was at the Yarn Shop knitting with friends. I'm not sure what's going on.~~NJTo: asthma Sent: Tuesday, August 2, 2011 11:58 PMSubject: Re: Not again! Guest guest
,How did this coughing fit come on? Was it all of a sudden? Do you have upper chest tightness? Really pay attention to your surroundings. Is someone wearing a specific type of lotion or cologne (musk, floral, etc)? Are there candles or incense? How about air fresheners or potpourri? The other questions are whether your rescue inhalers/nebs help at all? Have you tried finding a quiet spot and do breathing exercises? Not trying to be a one man inquisition, just trying to help you narrow down your triggers and really think about what actually helps. This prednisone really bothers me. For two years my docs could not figure out what was going on with me. So, they just the prednisone at it. One doc called it "shooting in the dark". It its not a fun position to be in.MadelineSent via DROID on Verizon Wireless Re: Not again! Hae you ever noticed whether those coughing fits follow after you haveeaten someting with sugar in it? Guest guest
Next time try exhaling noisily through your mouth. That may clear your throat and prevent the coughing which is the natural thing to do.
