Guest guest Posted December 28, 2004 Report Share Posted December 28, 2004 I see the death tolls are still rising - they doubled since I looked last night at bedtime from 22,000 to 44,000. My son-in-law's boss, who was vacationing in Thailand, has not been heard from yet. You make a good point about going this year, Alice. We planned on being in Benaras also, which is far away, but the main purpose of the visit was to join old friends who go to Auroville every couple years. And none of us are medical professionals or construction workers. I'm not sure what help we could offer six weeks after such a huge disaster. The last time I planned to go to India with the very same people, 9/11 prevented it.
