Dear Moderators, I had a thought while I was typing a message to Barbara a few minutes ago. We don't always put co-moderator after our names when we post, so some members, especially new ones, may not know who the moderators of the group are, so let's introduce ourselves. We don't have to give a lot of info but let's say our first name at least and how long we've had asthma. If you want to add anything else, go for it. I'll start:I'm and I am proud to call the NE area of the Volunteer State of Tennessee, USA, my home. I've had asthma since I was a child and I'm now 53. My asthma did pretty well through childhood but came on with a vengeance after I had smoked for about 13 years. I had a severe attack at age 28 but stubbornly continued to smoke for another 13 years, finally giving the cigarettes up for good in 1999 after another severe attack and not being able to breathe. I celebrated 12 years smoke free this month. I also have diabetes. Other than some arthritis and a really messed up back, I'm in fair health. I love this group and I'm glad to be part of it. Hugs to all of you,, Co-Moderator -- Take care,
Guest guest
Yep, TN is bad for allergies but I love it here. I live in Bristol. I bet your husband will know where that is. It's a beautiful state.Congratulations on quitting smoking. It is very hard to quit and I had a rough first few days but got through them. For someone with asthma or other lung issues, it's vital to stop smoking. I don't have flower beds as I can't tolerate the work involved in caring for them, but I do have a couple little pots on the porch with plants in them. They're dying from the heat and my forgetfulness. I try to take care of me the best I can. One of my downfalls is junk food and my picky eating habits, but I try., Co-ModeratorTo: "asthma " <asthma >Sent: Saturday, July 30, 2011 3:11 PMSubject: Re: Moderators , They say Tn is the #1 state for seasonal allergies ! My husband is from Chattanooga. I think Tn is such a pretty state. I smoked for 43 years ~ yikes ! I quit 3 years ago next month. I've got chronic bronchitis and emphysema from all my years of smoking. Quitting the smokes was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life ! I was just outside waterhing a few of the plants. I know I shouldn't be out there but they needed water so bad. We just paid over $3000. to have plants put in our beds and mulch so I'm trying to keep them looking nice. I don't think we'll get any rain today. I'll put the sprinlers on tonight for the lawn and most of the beds will get watered with that also. Being a diebetic is not a good thing either. So take good care of yourself and watch that very good. Guest guest
I will be glad to give you info. But I seem busy moderating over 125 post today. But quickly, My name is Donna, like I live on a island in Washington, I can see “Orcas Island” from my front window, I live on “Whidbey Island” and visit Orcas by boat a few times a year. My Asthma was late onset adult caused by a pain med that was on for 5 broken bones in my back. I did read about it in the info about the drug but thought ,,,,oh, not me, I’ve always been healthy, Surprise I have had Asthma for 7 years now. I no longer ignore “warning labels”. That is it for now, I’ve got “Moderating” to do. Donna (Co-Moderator) > Dear Moderators, I had a thought while I was typing a message to Barbara a few minutes ago. Guest guest
Hi Do we have you working overtime with all these messages today ? lol Yes, DH knows where Bristol is. Yes, very pretty country. It's a pity with this asthma that we have to give up gardening, and so many of the outdoor enjoyments. Or I should speak for myself. I have to hide from all the pollen, each spring & fall. I can no longer see to work outside anyway. I used to love it, love my flowers. I'm down to very few things to enjoy because of my vision. I've always had hobbies I enjoyed. One by one, they went by the wayside. The pc is one of the few things I can enjoy. I have the tv, which I mostly just listen to now. If I want to see someone's face, etc. I just put my face to the screen lol Listen, this whole thing about people making the font bigger for me is probably not a good idea. I don't want people getting upset over it. It was so very thoughtful of you to suggest it . But I've got things set up on my end for my low vision and do very well. I can do jsut fine. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for wanting to help me !! I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart ~ I really do !! Thank you so much for trying to help me . Let's put things back where they belong. I'd feel better if we did. Well, I've been on this pc for hours, playing catch up on the emails. I belong to a couple other groups and the posts are becoming more of a JOB than fun ! I'll have to give up something here soon. Can't keep up with half of things. Take care ,Love N HugsBarbeesunny Florida ! To: "asthma " <asthma >Sent: Saturday, July 30, 2011 5:25 PMSubject: Re: Moderators Yep, TN is bad for allergies but I love it here. I live in Bristol. Guest guest
Hey Donna, I looked that area up and it is gorgeous there. I bet the pictures don't do it justice. I would love to come visit the area sometime. One of these days I'll try traveling some., Co-ModeratorTo: asthma Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2011 7:58 PMSubject: RE: Re: Moderators I will be glad to give you info.
