Guest guest
Hello my name is Carmen and I live in andria, VA. My daughter Sydney is 21 months old and she had some feeding issues too earlier on. We tried a lot of different things trying to get her to eat. At first she could only eat really soft foods like scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, french fries, oatmeal and some other things that were really sotf. Also our speech therapist helped a lot. She showed us exercises to do to help increase the muscle tone in her mouth such as having her bite on a special tube that helps develop oral motor muscles. She also suggested we use an electric toothbrush to help stimulate her cheeks and oral muscles. I am not sure if your granddaughter has a speech therapist but this can be really helpful in teaching you techniques to assist with building those oral muscles. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions for the sensory issues or her waking during the night. But I will be glad to answer any other questions or assist in any way that I can. You can also email me at cnpsyd@.... I hope this was of some help. Good luck. > > Good morning everyone. Guest guest
Hi, I don't live in VA, however, my son has SID. Yes he has sensory problems with food. It is the texture the way it feels in their mouth that is why they gag. And yes he does not sleep through the night as well. You need a good OT that will help her. Guest guest
Hi, I am sorry that it has taken me so long to contact you. I dont check my emails often and when I do I usually have several hundred (literally!) to go through. Kaylee is just about Molly's age, she will be three in December. We live in Waterford, just outside of Leesburg. While Kaylee does not have feeding issues we are working with her on sensory issues and we are still waiting for a full nights sleep. Please feel free to email me (snordgren6@...). I would love to hear about your sweet little Molly.
