Hi I think they say that because it is important to watch what you are taking when you have thyroid disease. It can also impact your thyroid medication. I have to take allegra D when my allergies get out of whack. I just make sure and take them at a different time so they don't impact my levoxyl. I usually take my allergy medication at night and my thyroid med first thing when I wake up. I have not had any problems.Hope you feel better soon. Sinus infections are no funJody

Hello everyone!

I recently had a severe sinus infection and had to be put on the Zpack...the doctor said to take Claritin D for 15 days as well because my nasal passage is so swollen...I took a Claritin D and I felt better than I had in weeks! But then I read on the box- do not take if you have thyroid disease....does anyone know why? Is it only for hyperthyroidism to not take it? (I have hypo.) All I can find online just talks about heart palps and making hyperthyroidism worse, but that hasn't happened with me....just wondering if you guys have any experience with this. I tried the regular claritin and the regular zyrtec and neither one of them worked at all....the claritin D was wonderful, but now I 'm nervous to take it....

Thanks!

i think its cuz of teh " D " :0

i think in both your meds' the D stans for Decongestant.. they can be hard on

the heart of those susceptible = really hashis as much as graves :/

part of this is probably the Liver status for Hashis /bad " metabolizers' of

drugs if our liver is not able to Convert T3 :/

fwiw; i had an extreme and weird reaction to Benedryl= antihistmaine!

back when i was SO sick with AF/FM from being left hypot on sinthrodi so long/

and all related issues including liver an MCS.low free t3 etc.

made me super wired and spacy both balance/perception and cognitive-wise. and i

felt really bad (drugged and funny feeling in stomach. (histanine turns out to

be a good Neurotransmittesr/ 2 Receptors/ in our CNS! i never knew that
