Guest guest
So I went to the doctor today and prednisone was upped for me again. I'm now on 50mg for another 2 days (3 including today), and weaning down from there. The doctor almost thinks I have a virus in my upper respiratory tract that is causing me to cough, then the cough acts like I had exercise induced asthma and causes THAT to flare up. I'm about to take another neb dose today (had that at the doc, too), as I'm feeling the warning signs of the cough/attack. This is the worst I've been in 4 YEARS, let alone the 10 months I went w/o any symptoms at all really. Doc told me to keep the Fri appt and if I keep having to regularly neb, I'm gonna need it. Stupid asthma! ~~ PA
Guest guest
Yuck. I really hate prednisone. I hope you get this controlled soon. These types of flares are miserable. If you do not feel that you are improving, please go to the ER. Hugs.MadelineTo: asthma Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2011 10:35 PMSubject: Update after doctor appt #1 of the week So I went to the doctor today and prednisone was upped for me again. Guest guest
Glad you are having a better day and hope it lasts so you don't have to go to the ER again. And no blood gas tests! Thanks! I'm doing alright today, had to neb about every 6 hours, which at this point means I keep my other appt on Friday. It's frustrating, but if the nebs don't cut it, I'm not afraid to get my rear to the ER again. Just so long as I don't have to get another blood gas test. The bruise from that thing is nasty and painful (almost as painful as the test itself!). ~~ To: " asthma " <asthma >Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2011 3:30 PM Subject: Re: Update after doctor appt #1 of the week Yuck. Guest guest
ROFL! I wish! When I'm hyped on the steroids, I feel like superwoman! And yet a zombie at the same time. lol. I'm STILL nebbing every 6 hours (and this on 50mg pred! WTHeck!), so will be heading to see the doc tomorrow for sure. It's so annoying. I hope they can figure out what's going on so I'm not all hyped for several more days!~~To: "asthma " <asthma >Sent: Thursday, July 28, 2011 11:15 AMSubject: Re: Update after doctor appt #1 of the week Good news is always welcome! I am glad you are doing somewhat better. Now just don't go trying to be superwoman and it will all be ok! ;)MadelineTo: asthma Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2011 8:14 PMSubject: Re: Update after doctor appt #1 of the week Glad you are having a better day and hope it lasts so you don't have to go to the ER again.
