Guest guest
Hi - So sorry to read that your mom has progressed so far into the disease. Thinking of you this morning and keeping you in my prayers. With hugs- Sandie Des Moines, IA dad, Merle, passed from LBD 9-20-02, age 65 -- Re: Good Morning Dear Imogene, How good to hear from you. I tried answering earlier but my reply got gobbled up never to be seen again. Some days I find Yahoo just can't pull it together, then other days all is good. You sure have been through a lot lately, still. I am very sorry to hear of LO's decline. It is difficult with an aged parent but how much worse it must be with a husband, mate, partner. Thankfully your lump is being seen as not serious and I hope for you both that diagnosis continues. My mom is eating and drinking very little by now, lost 13 1/2 lb in July when intake was better than now. I don't know how much longer she can continue, but is not palliative yet by her nh standards. She has developed a pressure sore on her heel, despite being turned in bed every 2 hours, but the thought is that she doesn't feel it and I tend to agree, with the neuropathy she has as well as Hydromorph for pain. With that she seems comfortable and relaxed. They will treat it of course. Once we finish clearing the inlaw's house this week, auction on Wednesday, I can devote more time to Mom and her continual decline. This has been a sad, trying summer, and with finishing in the house I hope to have some recoup time before school and work start up again in September. In that respect, having the summer off, timing for house clearing and being there for Mom has cooperated very well. You take care of you as well as your husband, as you do so well. No need to reply. I just wanted you to know I think about you often and do appreciate when you can drop in. , Oakville Ont. Mom 92, 13 years " Parkinsons " 3 1/2 years ago LBD diagnosis, evident much longer in hindsight. Encouraged to give up her licence 6 years ago. Eltroxin, Hydromorph twice a day for pain Off Aricept since Feb./06 On " gentle care " since June 30/06, spoon-fed pureed foods, swallowing very compromised, needs verbal cueing and throat stroking to initiate swallowing, congested > > Good Morning everyone, > > Hope this day proves to be a good day for all of you and your LO's. > > I have been busy, very busy, but have been checking the mail.
