My mother mentioned that she wanted out of here a few times to her

siblings (never to me). That was one of the reasons we had her go to a

hospital for observation back in October. She also threatened to run

away - went so far as to pack a bag and was planning on leaving and

sleeping out on the streets. I believe it's a phase they go through

during the time of all the different changes that is happening to their

brains (could be wrong) - but I would imagine that the thoughts will

pass at some point with your mom...

; loving daughter of Maureen of Boston, MA; finally diagnosed

with LBD on 2/06 after also being diagnosed with everything from AD to

Vascular Dementia caused by mini strokes to Binswengers...; was victim

to rapid decline from Risperidone (or combination of Risperidone with

other drugs OR possibly received another " bad drug " when she was

observed/tested in a hospital in 10/05); in a NH since 11/05. Update:

on antidepressant Celexa, 20mg (still teary, but not as weepy) and as

of 4/21 on Exelon.

The only time (in 75 yr of life/ 31 with me) my husband has ever mentioned " I

don't want to go on like this " was when he was so sedated by medications his

times awake seemed fruitless...

We since have gradually left all medications and have succeeded in replacing our

old nutritional habits with ones that have him recognizing who he is and seeing

a future and purpose for his life. It is suspicioned personally that the same

lewy bodies responsible for the degeneration of dopamine-producing neurons in

the Substantia Nigra are also at work on him in other areas causing many of the

symptoms discussed by so many.

Despite the mental challenges each day, he, inside, works on finding the

answers to life and living well, right along with me....We both look forward to

the future.

Having had suicide a personal experience in my own family, I see the connections

between health and suicide and hope to help others see the connections also.

There are answers to explore and find...and help to find them....
