Guest guest
Here is a poem I wrote years ago. The orig title was: To a Grandchild awaiting an Abortion - I still feel that the decision shld be made prayerfully by the mother. In the case above, the decision was made by the father who objected to raising another man's child! By chance, she saw the baby, as she was alone wh it was delivered. The mother went into a clinical depression n had to be hospitalized, so great was her sense of guilt. . They divorced n I believe she remarried happily n has 2 grown children - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------- To a child awaiting abortion Here risked in an opal world rocked by your beginnings veiled by dreams adrift in amniotic tears unshed you bow that frail and throbbing eggshell head held and by a net of wondrous blood yet fed blind in these unspoken waters of an ever-virgin certain womb you wait and clutch with dolphin fingers like all of us in hope and dread a twisted fleshrope lifeline to a tomb and still not dead. a.o.howell
