Hypoglycemia

Oh, I have another question ...

The only thing this educator said about hypoglycemia was that Type II's

don't have to worry about it unless they overmedicate. Do y'all agree with

this? Since diagnosis (I do realize I'm still honeymooning), I've been very

compliant with diet and exercise and started out on oral hypoglycemics

(125mg Tolazamide) but have weaned myself off them and remain on the low end

(70 - 140) in the bg range. I've cut down (way down) on the carbs, which I

used to live on and cut out sugar altogether, which I also used to live on.

And added a reasonable exercise program (I'm in the

range of about 350#) ...

Do y'all agree - there are no dangers associated with low blood sugar?

the new photo identity one,in the uk iddm's can hold a license for three

years with review of the condition after every three yrs,the authorities

send medical forms to you & your gp(doc)to see if your situ has changed, this

time with me having laser treatment in both eyes i have had to undergo more

stringent tests, visual field test, medical, i think that this government are

hell bent on getting all iddm's off the road, what do you think.

My aunt is dm2, on orals, not insulin. She took her med , didn't test,

didn't eat, and she and my mom and grandmother proceeded to go out for the

day, my aunt driving. they were in a horrible accident, my aunt passed out

from a hypo while driving.

this was in Riverside, Ca, my aunt resides in mass.

My aunt lost her mass licence, although she said even if she got it back, she

wouldn't drive.

My aunt is not a tight control type of dmer, she runs high most of the time

and never diets, eats what she wants, so even wiith no control, at all, you

can still go hypo.

She's on glyburide, btw.

My mom was in a coma for 7 weeks, wasn't expected to live, still now having

surgery on her feet, my aunt and grandmother weren't hurt at all. this was 5

yrs ago.
