Guest guest
Hi I have treated it with apparent success! It's a difficult one. If you want to call me off line I can discuss treatment protocol I took. 0121 6865441. Best time to get me is possibly early Sat evening. Hope I can help J x Hidradenitis Suppurativa Hi all, I'd be really grateful if anyone could help me with this. I've just been contacted by a 30 year old woman suffering from 15 years of Hidradenitis Suppurativa which is not being well controlled and is being referred to a dermatologist to possibly have surgical removal of affected area - only 50% chance success - other 50% occurs elsewhere. I don't know much about the condition other than its a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the skin at sites rich in apocrine glands (e.g. sweat, mammary) of unknown cause - more common females, hereditary component. Begins after puberty with swelling and possible abcess and sinus formation - as with this lady. Some similarity to acne vulgaris - treatment with Dianette, surgery, skin grafting. She had some years of remittance whilst abroad and feels this may be stress related. Recurrance 1 year after birth of first child when returned to UK. Has had several courses of antibiotics when condition has appeared infected. I wondered if anyone has treated this condition previously or had any ideas of how best to progress. The lady has tried several alternative treatments with some short-lived success and I would like to give her a realistic idea of herbal treatment outcome. Any and all ideas very much welcomed, Many thanks,
Guest guest
Hi there, Janette - I'd be really grateful if you would be able to share some of your ideas with us in the group as it is something I have come across. My mum has the condition and has had sweat glands removed from both axillae but with no real success. Also suffers from the problem in her groin but has refused surgery there. I see a huge correlation between her condition and her mental health - stress, anxiety and underlying rage play a big part in this very debilitating condition. I would agree with Lorraine that Berberis, Arctium etc seems a sensible course of action - but there is always the fear of a flare up. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone for your advice - I've got a much better idea of how to move forward with this patient and I feel that I've been able to give her a fair treatment picture. ________________________________ To: ukherbal-list Sent: Tue, December 7, 2010 11:22:43 AM Subject: RE: Hidradenitis Suppurativa  Thank you !
