Guest guest
HI all, a longstanding patient of mine who has suffered for about 30 years with ME has recently had a few bouts of bad angina. He has a sensitive and not very strong constitution and is exhausted by most forms of stres and strain under normal circumstances and this has floored him. He was brought to hospital after his initial bouts of angina, and they did many tests. Kept him in for a number of hours which sent his stress levels rocketing. They concluded it was angina and that there was some heart damage. He then discharged himself because he felt he was going to feel better at home and has refused to visit a doctor since, largely for the same reasons (doesn't have the strength to get to a doctor). Doctors have prescribed some meds but I dont' think he's going to take them either! (he tried one and it reduced his already low heart rate further and he felt awful on it). He's taking a tea of hawthorn and motherwort with some ginger in it at the moment (he tolerates whole herbs quite well) and was wondering what else he should take. Anyone any experience with angina and any suggestions? Last time i spoke to him he was taking ginkgo already, although I must check that he still is. He's very cautious about supplements because he reacts badly to some of them. He's very weak and confined to bed. His heart rate is relatively low and he seems to be getting 'echoes' (his words) of his angina every morning. I'm really wary of doing anything to make it worse!! any help gratefully received!
