Guest guest
hi, i felt like saying something about chiari and dieing after some things mentioned. for me, i lost my daughter jennifer in dec 2000 and she had chiari 1 no herniation was ever known to us but when i saw the scan it had to have been very low in comparing hers to my other six who have 6-9mm. i know and am sory i always bring her up when writing. she has a history of migraines since age four. it didnt affect her to much to interfer with most of the things she did, but looking back she was alway tired and would sleep a lot as do my other kids. she had one time of when she went to work on the first day of a new job and soon as she got there she began vomiting. she also had an extra episode for several days of very severe nausa and vomiting large clumps of whatever it was. i wont forget that time because it was unusual. of course we attributed it to migraine because we had never heard of chiari yet. she had a car accident prier to that at age 19 but dr said she was fine. looking back now those extra episodes were after the accident. but then she seemed ok untill she became pregnant at age 21 and had an emergeny c-secstion with a spinal-- because her baby had a a bowel movement before she was born. neglence in care was in that area too or she probally wouldnt have needed an emergency c-section. symptoms she ahd from then on became daily and more severe with new symptoms of ataxia, drop attacks, her whole left leg was numb one day. after she began the daily symptoms the doctors just told her she is having migraine or stress from haveing a baby during the time from may2000 till oct 2000. finally with a lot of pressue from me they did an brain mri. it showed the chiari with crowding at the brain stem. they told her chiari dosent cause those symptoms and her problem is migraine. they perscribed her severel meds i dont have the names right now. she had been set up for a neurosuregon appnt but it wasnt till dec 12 2000. she went to see him and he told her other people are worse than her and migraine is still her problem. two weeks later she was taken to ER by ambulance with ataxia, drop atack, headache, vomiting. two hours later she died suddenly because of breathing issue. i was there and saw it all. today with more things i know she either herinated which i belive i was told but her death is listed as brain bleed secondary to chiari only they left out chiari on death certificate. chiari is not taken seriousely or doctors dont talk with us honestly and sincereness to us. my son who has chiari 9mm on side and 6mm on other and flat pitutary, has med-i-cal. they were going to cut his health care off becaue he had saved pell and call grant money for college and they have alway told me this money but for some reason they were using it. i emailed so many people about it, i called the gov office and so many other offices telling he had chiari and should have access to care just in case. today i received a letter telling me he can keep his medical care. i am also still trying to win my case about jennifers totaly neglectfulcare. i am writing to the supreme court a brief of why the lawyer we had used up our stataute on purpose. i want justice why they did and didnt do certain things that anyone who isnt a doctor would event think should have been done. i think what im trying to say is persistance pays off. thanks, joyce
