Guest guest
Jan - Oh Lordy - how utterly annoying! I feel for you. And to think some people feel that they're giving up on their LO when they go to a NH. The job is by all means not done. If anything, you have to work harder to make sure your LO receives the care and respect they deserve. I've been down that road myself. At my mother's NH I'm in their face constantly. Questioning this & that. In fact, after last night's visit I have to email them again this a.m. * My mother was practically falling asleep in her dinner last night - why was she so tired? Was she given something? Or is she not sleeping well? Whatever it is I want to know! * My mother cut her leg. She is constantly moving her legs and that is why she wears the knee high socks. When I brought her back to the dining room they now have this clear plastic thing on top of the table - I'm wondering if that new piece is a hazard... * We were told at our last quarterly meeting that we could take our mother out for walks. When her sister went to leave with my mother to walk to Dunkin Donuts she was told that she had to stay on the grounds. Why? Of course the above is trivial compared to your issues. But it goes to show how vigilant you need to be for your LO.
