Guest guest
Hi Nina, Congratulations on finding someone who sounds like she may be just what you were looking for. If things work out maybe she can stay on as your caregiver when your regular housekeeper comes back! Hope it all works out for you & your mom. Guest guest
Dear Nina, It is great to hear from you and get the update. We've been thinking of you. How fortunate to find this temporary housekeeper. Who knows, if she has NH experience, perhaps she can segue into the caregiver role. Anybody who recognizes meds, understands the value of touch (her massage for example), and is kind-heaarted and thoughtful - is a real find. How is your mom doing? What has happened with her meds? Did you find a new local MD and get some of the check-ups done? You and your mom remain in my thoughts and prayers. You are such a caring daughter! Peace, Lin Nina Jordan wrote: Hey everyone, Wow , I have loads of catching up to do! I havent emailed in a while.... I remember wanting to reply to emails a while back but I cant even remember which ones they were.So please dont hate me if I didnt reply back The past week has been crazy busy! We have been interviewing nurses left rigth and center, so far we havent really found a nurse that we're completely comfortable with! Its SO much more difficult than I thought. The good news is I managed to track down a physio therapest who agreed to come over a few times a weeks since my mother has been extremely week all over. The worst part of the past week was trying to find a part time house keeper who could fill in for the 6 wks our present house keeper will be away. I did alot of searching in advance and I found someone to fill in. I asked her to start a little before our house keeper left so that she would be able to sort of ease in into our routine and be able to take care of mom while im at work . she seemed to catch on really quickly and did great for the first 2 days she started working with us. HOWEVER, yesterday , when we woke up in the morning I found that she had taken all her stuff , turned off her cell phone and ran away! I think she got a little scared from one of my moms raging fits. In any case , i stayed home from work and started calling every agency I could find in the newspaper , nobody really wanted to give us a housekeeper on a part time basis. Funnily enough , I started to give up by mid day and had no idea what to do. My sister came over and gave me an old newspaper she had found on the floor of her office, so i called 2 more agencies , one of which told me that they had someone , but they asked for alot of money! Anyway , i was desperate, I ran to the agency and there she was, shes sooo petite and so thin, not for anything but i was a little worried about how she would handle if my mom fell or smth. ANYWAY , long story short, it turns out she has nursing home experience! shes really sweet and was able to identify aricept as soon as she saw the pill. She says she already dealt with Alzheimers patients so thats a good sign too. We'll see what happens. Also this morning she was massaging my mothers legs because she was in alot of pain, i thought that was exteremely sweet. I guess the first girls running away was a blessing in disguise. Talk to you guys later, have to get back to work , ive been lucky in that the HR has been really sympathetic with me and agreed to give me some flexible hours this week. Guest guest
We made our way home today. Im a little down but well be ok! Our lil guy well be having surgery 1st week of september! He well be having colostimy/ostimy....so many terms, and the dreaded pull thru at the same time. Instead of original 3 stages of surgries, now only two if no complications. This is a bitter sweet for us. Avoided for so long but cant be avoided at this point. But one thing I can say is that when they mentioned this when he 1st became ill, I know my son would have been high risk for surgries and now I can say due to this group and learning about natural over the years, he is a bundle of health and I feel he well be able to take this on much better/recovery! I feel in my heart if this would have been done befor all the natural knowledge/healing he couldnt have endured it. His surgeon told us that due to the hirschsprungs the good intestines is overworking and with time well keep getting worse. I well update at the time! Guest guest
Jennie, I will keep your son and your family in my prayers. I know what you mean when you say that the natural healing has made your son strong enough to endure surgery. Natural healing is so powerful and I am very thankful that your little guy has benefited. Guest guest
Dear Jennie, Your post is very inspiring. I am sorry that this is necesarry. But your attitude is very supportive of your son, and that is what he needs most. I can only feel that way about my sons' disease too - that I can't prevent him from requiring some surgeries and medications, but I have made him as strong as I can to get through all that. So thank you for writing about your feelings so far in this process. I hope all goes well in the next month as you all get ready. sharry Jennie wrote: We made our way home today.
