Guest guest
I had my neurologist appt today - first one since my neurosurgeon did my decompression. Neuro ran tests on my nerves in my hands and arms to make sure no nerve damage was causing numbness/tingling in hands. He asked about numbness in my face - which yes - there is still a bit around my lips. and some on the left side - but not like before surgery. My husband volunteered to him that i have been crying alot since the surgery (I am not usually a crier) - OK who wouldn't??? I have been a bit depressed - OK? I am usually a very indendent strong woman and now I am not able to be that. So Neuro says that I have " Severe Anxiety & Depression Disorder " due to my medical conditions and has put me on 2 different meds for it. He said that is why i have the numbness in my hands and the insomnia still. (this is the same neuro that knew enough about Chiari to send me to the NS to get decompressed) - so he does know Chiari..... I need advice. Is this common?? could it really be anxiety causing it?? i won't ask if i am depressed - I know that answer! terry lynne
