Guest guest
Hi I use Avicenna's 1:3 25% decocted tincture - have just been trying to find details of a recent Rx to give an example dosage, I'm fairly sure I've used it at about 30mls in a 100ml Rx, to be used 5mls tds-qds. Just can't for the life of me think which pt I used it for so can't find details. I think it was for dysmenorrhoea most recently. I've also used Donnie Yance's capsule formulation " Corydalis Plus " by Natura Health Products - 2 caps, bid - tds. In her series of seminars on natural medicines and cancer, Chanchal Cabrera described Corydalis as one of the most potent herbal pain remedies and sedatives, good for anxiety of pain, warming and bitter (unusual), 1/3rd as potent as morphine, non-habit forming and non-constipating, blood tonic and vitalising, increases cardiac profusion. Hope this is helpful Sue Salmon, Huddersfield
Guest guest
Just to add to this debate I have used the Corydalis PIS Natura product also and have some patients who are maintained on it alone who had bad arthritis with swelling and alot of pain. Although its pricey when it suits the individual it seems to work very well. I've had some patients who have had alot of xs wind with the capsules, or who felt they didn't agree with them, probably a misjudged constitutional issue on my part... Sue have you experienced this? Either with the natura product or the Tincture?? I also use Piscidea erythrea FE (Proline) both pain and also for anxiety, esp for insomnia with debility..where its chronic. I find its excellent for period pains with a little FE ginger and vib op/pru too..
Guest guest
Corydalis PIS is really great with pain that has a spastic quality to it, but I have not had pts complaining of wind. I also use the herbs you mention. For fibromyalgic pain I usually use Nattokinase, which relaxes the tight muscle spindles in FM pts. Guest guest
It's an enzyme extracted from pineapples and digests fibres formed during the inflammatory process. Guest guest
Serrapeptase is an enzyme used by silk worms to digest their cocoons. It has been shown to digest non-living matter in our bodies and there is some evidence that it can be helpful in atherosclerosis. Could this be similar to nattokinase? Guest guest
Thanks , can I ask, what dose do you use and how effective do you find it for FM? How long before you see results? Guest guest
Yes, very similar. I use serrapeptidase as well. And for advanced ca. pts where Nattokinase is not reducing d-dimer sufficiently I use lumbrokinase (from earthworms). Guest guest
You're right - I just checked the bottle. I do have an FM pt who is also allergic to soy and she is doing very well with it. There may be other sources.
