We all must expect to have it at some stage of our fight with the beast some more intense than others. If we know what the sources are it can help is to understand and deal with it:- I can think of:- Hormone manipulation treatment induced depression - a result of medical treatment. Feeling alone or helpless The depression of loss - loss of a way of life, loss of manhood, loss of ability to work, dealing with continence problems and other side effects. Bowel problems - constipation. Pain Carer's depression - loss of love life and a partner's loving feeling, the effort of looking after a helpless person (in later stages), the depression which follows bereavement and the efforts that no longer need to be made (straight from intense caring to nothing to do). Dealing with it:- Complimentary therapies, a listening ear, divertion to another interest, music, visualisation, serotin enhancers, hypnotherapy and prayer. Pain control - not waiting until the pain is intense. Dealing with constipation - dad uses prune juice! Not feeling alone and sharing with others in similar position One of the reasons for this group is the latter one to enable us to half your problems by sharing them - I think just getting them written down can help. No one on this group is going to say that a problem is insignificant - we all have been through a small issue being a mountain to climb. I'm sure this list is not endless and you may wish to add to mine or add your experiences. At the end of the day it is what works for you, this will be different as people's characters are different.
