Hi all,

I live in West Amherst, NY. I am a 36 year old mother of a beautiful 22 month

old daughter. I was diagnosed with Chiari last year after my symptoms progressed

with the birth of my daughter via an emergency c-section with epidural. I was

also diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, etc.

I love that we have these online groups that provide us with support, knowledge

and personal experiences. I have done a lot of research and sought many opinions

locally, at the Cleveland Clinic, and Colorado. I think meeting others face to

face, sharing experiences, knowledge, and lending a helping hand when possible

is even more powerful.

We all know that Chiari not only affects us physically but can be mentally and

emotionally draining, especially when our family, friends, and loved ones can't

fully understand what we are going through. I would like to start a local

support group that would meet about once a month in Amherst and I hope to begin

a walk here locally next year.

The meetings will most likely take place at the Panera Bread on Niagara Falls

Blvd. in Amherst around 7 pm during the week. If you are interested in meeting

please contact me. I will post a definite meeting date and location soon

depending on the response volume.
