Hi Isobel,

Uncaria tomentosa has two major chemotypes, that is true. I would be totally

confident in Medi-Herb's product as they check each batch for the constituents.

The " rare " form of Uncaria sounds dodgy to me. I have had very good results

with Medi-herb tincture.

Hope it helps

Does anyone know whether Samento (described as a rare form of Uncaria tomentosa

which is TAO-free) and used to treat chronic Lyme Disease, is the same as what

is sold for example by Mediherb as Cat's Claw PAO chemotype (i.e. TAO-free).

Is the name 'Samento' just used as a marketing ploy - it costs £29.99 for 30ml

from Nutramedix, sold by the Nutri Centre, or is it in fact a different variety.

I guess it must be a much more concentrated extract at that price.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has used this or other treatments

for Lyme Disease.

Isobel
