Guest guest
Hi all, It's been a while since I posted, so here's a short version of what has been going on. Breathing difficulties increase. Some of my symptoms mimic Congestive Heart Failure but that has been absolutely ruled out. Other symptoms appear to be other types of cardiac issues...also completely ruled out. Even my asthma is acting oddly ... NO wheezing/rasps/rails. O2 saturation remains in the mid to high 90's. Severe broncho spasms are the only consistent symptoms As a result, I will be off to National Jewish in the next several weeks. We'll see what they can do. In preparation for the trip, I had a CT scan today and I'm scheduled for a bronchoscopy on Tuesday morning. YIPEE!!! (notice the tongue in my cheek). While en route to check my lungs, he's planning on a lay over in the vocal chords to see if VCD is a key player or not. My doctor is suggesting I consider a new asthma treatment called Broncho Thermoplasty. http://www.nationaljewish.org/about/mediacenter/pressreleases/2010/asthmatx-musa\ ni.aspx To me, it sounds like they microwave the insides of my lungs and wait for new tissue to heal that will work better. The goal is to reduce the amount of smooth muscle while regenerating the lining, nerves and mucosa of the lungs. It DOES NOT fill my heart with joy to read these things. Has anyone here heard of this? Has anyone heard of another individual who has had this? Please let me know as I'd dearly love to speak with others to see what kind of efficacy this procedure has. I also need to learn what type of side effects come along with this. In my opinion,. God put those muscles there for a reason, what happens when/if we kill them off?
