Guest guest
Thanks for posting in detail about the pill and your bladder a. No offense, but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who needs a bladder transplant..LOL.. Darcy Re: Digest Number 3124 and Darcy: I don't know of the name of the pill but it is intended for those who feel the need to urinate frequently but don't have a bladder or kidney infection. A few years ago I talked with a urologist about my problem (this is before the pill's release)and then had the most humiliating exam of my life where I was hooked up to a cathter and then had my bladder filled with varying amounts of water and the doctors hand up inside me squeezing to release the water to see how much water it took for me to feel the need to urinate. There were several med students in the room. It was awful. But needless to say I feel the need to go with like a teaspoon of water in my bladder and with even a small amount more I find it hard to concentrate on what I am doing be it working out or trying to fall asleep. He told me about the medicine they were researching but of course it wasn't available to the public yet. This last year it was release and I have seen ads for it. I wish I could remember the name. But I am sure most doctors would know. I don't like taking pills for every little thing that is wrong but its hard to live a normal life when you have to use the restroom two or three times at every place you go.Carolyn: For your asthma, have you tried using your inhaler prior ro working out? And are you breathing through your nose? I find my asthma is worse if I breath through my mouth. It is a pain though isn't it. The cold weather makes it so much worse and I have a hard time having a hard intense workout in the winter because of it.My diet...well if I could actually journal a day (I have tried for years) I could give you an accurate picture. But I will tell you my two problems...what I eat when I eat out which is often. I eat too much bread, though I admit I'm alot better than I used to be. And I tend to eat too much portion size. When I eat at home I have the tendancy to have a 400 calorie dinner but then snack on an additional four hundred or so calories at night. Today I ate a Luna bar for breakfast , had a protein shake with bananna for lunch and a snack of one serving size (to the crasker) of reduced fat wheatables. Tonight I'll probably really want to eat out because the food I have eaten thus far today has well been boring. I love Indian, Japanese, fajitas..anything foreign except for german. And if I eat out I know I'll go over my calorie limit for the day. I have a hard time just ordering plain chicken breast. I have to admit that what I am eating now is way much better than what I would eat a few years ago... but my metabolism is SO much slower. Thanks so much for reading lol.a :-) ____________________________________________________________Find what you are looking for with the Lycos Yellow Pageshttp://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default.asp?SRC=lycos10As Deb has said: "Fitness is a journey and it begins with the first step.""This isn't about weight loss, it's about enlightenment" -Visit our new vault site http://taeboon.isportsdot.com/

Guest guest
> Carolyn: For your asthma, have you tried using your inhaler prior > ro working out? i think that i should start doing this. im taking advair and when i started on it, i hadnt the need for my ventolin/salbutamol/whatever... the rescue inhaler. but now im thinking that i should be using it more, where exercise is concerned. > And are you breathing through your nose? I find > my asthma is worse if I breath through my mouth. im pretty sure that im breathing through my mouth while working out. > The cold weather makes it so much worse and I > have a hard time having a hard intense workout in the winter > because of it. very sharp cold air can give me an attack but normally i have more of a problem in hot humid summer months (summer allergies often make it worse).... i wondering if it is the heated dry house air in the winter that is bothering me... i dunno. asthma can have so many triggers it has always been difficult for me to pinpoint exactly what the problem is ::sigh:: > But I will tell > you my two problems...what I eat when I eat out which is often. I > eat too much bread, though I admit I'm alot better than I used to > be. And I tend to eat too much portion size. i hear ya! i avoid restaurants! but heck im a stay at home mom and we dont have the money to eat out... ever! so staying at home all of the time does definately help me with eating. i guess it is just a matter of compromise... you can go to a certain restaurant but you must limit your choices or you can go out and have what you want as long as you promise yourself that you will not eat at all between supper and bed. it might help to look at that way -- as a 'promise to yourself' -- and then resolve to never ever lie to yourself or to deliberately break a promise that you have made. i dont think that you must give up restaurants at all, but you have to give equal weight to the pleasure of eating in a restaurant and to your desire to get fit. also i think that you might want to re-think your breakfast and lunch decisions -- i would not feel satisfied either with a bar and a shake and a few measley crackers. would it be possible for you to pick better quality foods like whole wheat bread, whole grain cereals and chicken/turkey, salad with a variety of veggies, soup, natural peanut butter and fruit? and would it be possible to eat those better foods more often during the day? i know that it takes a long time to change our eating habits and that you have made progress but i think that you are still not eating enough of the right food. -carolyn. --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
