Guest guest
Hi all, Just had to share...especially since there has been so much talk about language, sentences etc. I too have worked constantly at this since Sydney was born, however, I think that now that she is in pre school, with other children, I see that her language is excellerating rapidly..especially sentence stucture... so here is the scenario: Zach, my 20 year old, who adores Syd, but also adores his time to do what he wants, came home from work, hung out with Syd briefly...about ten minutes, then said he had to go. She of course protested...saying " No Zach, don't go! " after all it was only ten minutes!. As he went down the stairs, I told her she could not go with him, that he was leaving and she had to reamain behind. She then blurted out... " It's not fair! " ..then went into the bedroom and slammed the door!. I was of course delighted. It was a perfect sentence, it was appropriate to the situation, and it showed a clear and assertive display of emotion. All I could think was ..she is exactly like my older daughter was at that age who is now 22..kids are kids are kids...and because I am always watching for developmental " stuff " ..this was a big deal! )!! She recovered from her disappointment quickly and just started to do her own thing. Just had to share.. mom to Sydney 5 mds and others....
