Guest guest
Hello everyone! I'm officially zipped! I had my decompression on June 22nd at Toronto Western hospital by Dr. Fred Gentili. Admittedly, he is not a Chiari specialist, being difficult to find one in Ontario, Canada. But he is a base of skull specialist and he and his team did an excellent job! I had no complications except nausea. I was in NICU for 1 day and the neuro ward for 4. The care was outstanding. We stayed 2 more days in Toronto before flying home. I even managed well on the 2 hour flight. I chose to have my own dura for the patch and my leg is healing nicely. I go tomorrow to have my 54 staples removed, and I'm looking forward to it!! Starting to get really itchy! I have a follow up in Toronto on August 30th at which time he will decide my return to work date. So I get to enjoy the summer off I'm still lurking around reading everyone's posts. I still have a long recovery ahead of me - I'm still resting a greater part of the day than I'm up. But I'm on the road to recovery and I'm feeling better already than I have in the past year! Thank you to everyone who has replied to my posts!! I wish you all a painfree day!
