Thanks to everyone who responded to my message about our recent

hardships. I can feel your thoughts and prayers and appreciate them

very much indeed.

Things are moving along here. The viewing is set for Sunday and

memorial service is Monday. We are receiving messages from several

people around the city telling us how much Dirk meant to them. They

tell story after story of how Dirk selflessly gave of himself to help

them with their problems. It's funny but that's not what he was to us.

We never saw that part of him. Dirks son is really having a hard time

dealing with his fathers death. Please send up extra special prayers

for him. Dizz is doing well, though he is very quiet. He knows what's

going on and is trying to help, but keeps getting shoved away either

because he's too slow or because he can't express his thoughts all the

way through. He is more confused these days and I had expected this to

happen with everything that is going on. He is so precious. He woke up

at midnight on Tuesday night, dressed and was ready to go to the

mortuary by 12:30. Rosemary, my MIL, was furious. When I got there the

next morning I could tell he was upset. He said he got " the others "

mad last night because he was ready and they weren't. Bless his heart.

Well, I am doing the best I can. Trying to keep quiet, stay by Dizz,

and offering help where I can. Thanks for all the help my friends,

it's been...well helpful.
