Guest guest
I had been off for 54 days until I got hit with bronchitis and the cough wouldn't go away. Now I'm back on it with 1 puff each day as soon as I wake up. I talked to my allergy doctor and asked if I couldn't try getting off again and she didn't recommend it. She said that if I had stayed on the Advair my bronchitis might never have developed after my cold. I asked if I could possibly get on Asmanex instead of the Advair but again she said the combination in Advair was what I needed with the problems I have. I asked her too if I would ever be off of the Singular but she didn't think so with my allergies to cats, and dust mites. I hate being on the Advair because I can't take a break from my Actenol (bone meds) until I'm off the Advair. They recommend you take a break after being on the Actenol for 5 years. My mother and aunts had hip fractures because we're all so small. It's like everything works against you.Kathy/Iowa
Guest guest
I understand your concern about your bones. I, too, am petite. However, Advair at the lowest dose has helped me a lot. I no longer get colds, bronchitis or sinus pain or infections. I have not had a full blown asthma attack in 10 years. For me it is a miracle drug. Guest guest
The size of your bones themselves isnt so much the issue...as is whether or not they store enough calcium and phosphorus to sustain your body's needs. If your bones lose more calcium than they store, you lose density and that leads to osteoporosis. Alot of medications can/do cause people to lose minerals so it is good to be on the watch for these kind of side effects. Diets are important...depending on a person's meds, it may need to be supplemented by eating more of certain foods and less of others.
