BP medicine.......

The neuro changed Mom from Aricept (5yrs) to Exelon patch (one month)

The GP increased her BP medicine but said he could not switch her

back to Aricept(since the neuro made that change and it would be

unethical)

My sister wants her back on Aricept (we have many free samples and

would save $$) I think we should stay with the Exelon and reduce the

BP medicine. She has an appt. March 27 with an assoicate of neuro-

and I will bring this up to her.

Mom has been so upset about the move, crying, when that is uncommon

for her. I understand her feelings but this is the BEST option for

her. I know it must be upsetting to have others rummage through your

personal belongings but I am her daughter and this is the first time

in my life (52) that I have been placed in this situation. I try to

pacify her as I go.........She just has so much stuff and this is a

large efficiency apt. with two small closets. I am determined to make

her new apt. as cozy and familiar (with personal 'pretties') as

possible.

She cannot understand the timing, cannot remember the place, cannot

concieve the move. We go over and over it. I feel like if it was me

in her shoes, I would want to be told the truth.

I pray that she adjusts to her new surroundings and flourishes.

Atleast she will be with others and have someone to play with. I

really think that was my mom's demise- 2 yrs. of social isolation and

DLB lurking in the dark, unknown to her family.

Thanks for the advice and encouraging words.

Rob,

There is always an adjustment period. And it takes them a minute to catch up.

Moving them is one of the hardest things.

My Mom did like the socializing part of it. And the consistent scheduling.

Hugs,

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.
