(Blepharitis is also common in PD and PD-related disorders; its origins are completely different than blepharospasm.) With blepharospasm, the eyelid involuntarily closes. It may appear that the person is sleepy or uninterested. In my dad's case (clinical DX of PSP), the eyelids remain closed for an hour or more. The only treatment I'm aware of is botox injections. I just forwarded you a local support group email from last year on blepharospasm. It was part of a lecture on dystonia that another support group member heard and shared their notes on.
