Here are some pictures and a story from the newspaper back home regarding Buffalo's blizzard. Buffalo sits at the far east end of Lake Erie and is also on the south western end of Lake Ontario so they sometimes get a double whammy on the snow fall. About 10 yrs ago now they had a week, right around Christmas time, where they had 7-8 feet of snow in less than a week. That is the one time I have heard about buildings collapsing b/c of the weight of the snow...
