His main problems are migraines (largely sorted), poor sleep patterns (much improved) and a pattern of becoming hyper/ adrenalised very easily (improved somewhat but very difficult to get on top of). He recently went on retreat for a month, the disruption of which has (possibly) resulted in him being in severe pain. The pain moves around his body, but mostly centres on the gut, adrenal area, groin and legs. His skin and flesh feel numb, especially in a band around his abdomen. Pain is constant, and worse at night preventing him sleeping, and even walking - he is crawling around. The doctor prescribed him Neurofen (he is extremely sensitive to any drug), which stopped bowel movements completely for a week, but did enable him to get some sleep. He has no appetite and is nauseous when he does eat. He is very distressed, obviously. I have prescribed him Gelsemium, for the pain, but have used this only previously for epsiodic gallbladder pain, where it works very well. I don't know yet how well this has worked. Epsom salts bath provide a little relief. What I am asking for is experience of delaying with pain, but also how to stop this dramatic episode as soon as possible. I wondered about a coffee enema, to clear the liver of toxins, but he is reluctant as although we have had good results with them for migraine relief, it does make him hyper and unable to sleep. Any ideas and input gratefully received, as always. Thanks Sara Southgate MURHP
Guest guest
Important for this to be an indica strain or resin or oil as sativa would have stimulant effect. I have seen cannabis oil used smoked and ingested successfully for neuropathy this can be made using ethanol(harsher as sugars are extracted and caramalised, using isopropyl alcohol to which a few drops of water are added as solvent is evaporated, this increases boiling point of solution with an aim to get rid off traces, acetone is easier to evaporate off, and butane method involving a piece of copper pipe gives clearer product. Good quality hashish or an indica straine.g northern lights/hindu kush/blueberry/white rhino etc. are mostly indica (http://weedreview.com/weed-reviews-menu/tag/characteristics/Pure-indica/criteri\ a:1/ http://www.cannabis-seeds.co.uk/indica-strains.html,http://www.growhigh.co.uk/ca\ talog/product_info.php?products_id=2159 )smoked through a pipe or bong taking a pull or two at a time waiting for half an hour before resuming again would be an effective method for ingestion as would Depression would be helped by both indica and sativa, can patients in England get prescriptions for sativex(GW pharma 1:1 THC:CBD and other constituents) through doctor?. The cannabis would help with neuropathy, migrane, depression. However cannabis is illegal to suggest using it would be counterproductive to treatment. To: ukherbal-list From: frankieewalker@... Guest guest
Dear Sara, regarding moving pains around the body and being distressed after a one month retreat: what retreat was it, and what did he do there? Too much focusing or long sitting in meditation posture without relaxation can be the cause.... the remedy: relaxants and go for walks, stay in a warm place and do not strain the mind. best wishes, Marilena.
