Guest guest
Dear all, Help please. I feel this is something I should know but it hasn’t effected me directly previously. A friend of a friend who is an Obstetrician is working with obese mothers and asked whether I would be interested in volunteering at a coffee morning they hold weekly, to chat with his patients about basic cooking tips and nutrition. Very much healthy eating guidelines rather than directly weight loss. However when he gave my CV to his team they advised him that before I could come in, even as a volunteer, as I would be talking / giving advice to patients, i needed to be a member of the HPC. After having confirmed with the HPC I am not eligible as they only register certain “protected titles †i.e. dietician. Along with a degree in herbal medicine I have a foundation science degree/ Diploma in Nutritional therapy which allows me to also practice as a Nutritional Therapist. I am eligible to join the CHNC. I seem to think / recall that many of our colleagues do work indirectly and directly with the National health service. – Can I ask for any advice on the way forward please. Thanks Dalbindner xx ________________________________ To: ukherbal-list Sent: Sun, 3 October, 2010 18:55:35 Subject: Re: Neuropathy following chemotherapy Hi I have a guy with peripheral neuropathy affecting the hands and feet from chemo who did very well on a mix of pretty much equal parts Schisandra(slightly more), Vaccinium, Centella, Hypericum, Carduus and Zanthox. He eats well, does yoga, took up origami and cards to exercise his hands and got a squashy ball for developing hand strength. He found that keeping his hands warm helped. He was doing well on a previous mix but really noticed more improvement when we added schisandra. When he started three years ago he had stiffness, lack of sensation, couldn't do buttons and had difficulty writing. He still has what he calls " muted sensation " but no discomfort and his dexterity has returned to close to normal. Symptoms are meant to abate naturally over about three years but he really felt improvements as symptoms were worse during gaps when he didn't have his tincture. All the best Simon > > Has anyone treated neuropathy as a result of chemotherapy with success? > > Would very much appreciate any experience that anyone has of trying to help >with this. > > Best wishes > > bel > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > List Owner: Graham White, MNIMH
