Guest guest
Lilly, what patch do you use and what doseage. I heard they fall off, or people are allergic to the adhesive, or that they wear off sooner than they are supposed to. What has been your experience? Thanks, > > > > Val, > > > > I'm wondering if you apply your Oestrogel only once per day, in the > > a.m. or twice. Guest guest
Val, I hve a small scale where I can weigh my Oestrogel. I've been using the Cyclogest for 10 days and it is working well for me, excepting that I get cravings for a few days. Haven't gained any weight though. What are you using instead of Oestrogel? When you applied the gel only once per day, did it wear off by evening and did you have difficulty with sleeping or hot flashes at night? Thanks, > > You use 1.3 g 2x/day up from 1.25g 2x/day? Guest guest
If that is working for you, that is really wonderful. I felt a little OD'd on 50 mg Cyclogest for 10 days/month. My chemistry is all messed up so I'm probably not a good example. I am not using any estrogen right now, but when I did use it once/day, I never felt it wore off. I put it on fat parts. I am off all estrogen and progesterone for the time being. I have an appointment at Mayo Clinic in August. I'm going to have adrenal vein sampling to see of an aldosterone over-producing adrenal can be localized. I've been pretty sick with high aldosterone, low potassium, etc. (Conn's Syndrome). Guest guest
Thanks, . Yes, I do intend to go back on estrogen again. If one side cannot be identified as the tumor side, I will have no choice but to take an aldosterone blocker for the rest of my life. Aldactone blocks aldosterone but it also blocks progesterone. There is one other called Inspra that doesn't mess with the female hormones. I tried it but got quite nauseous on it. If I have to stay on a blocker, I will just work up to a needed level of that so I can safely use estrogen and P again. I have some patches but by the time I tried them, I was already quite sick with primary aldosteronism. I eventually got to the point where any Estrogel or patch gave me terrible heart arrythmias. That stopped while on Aldactone and I re-started Estrogel for a month. Prometrium didn't produce a period so I was advised to stay off estrogen for the time being. Thank you for your prayers. I pray that a aldosterone-producing tumor can be located and removed. I could conceivably be well again. Val -----Original Message----- From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of menomama Thanks Val. Do you plan to go back on estrogen? Did you try any other forms of estradiol other than Oestrogel, that worked better for you. What do you think of the dots or patches? Do you think they tend to keep the serum level higher. I don't have side effects or symptoms with the Oestrogel and feel pretty good. I tried using it 2.50 g (1.5 mg estradiol) 1x per day in the a.m. and it seems to carry over fine and I can still sleep well and don't have hot flashes. I hope you can get to the bottom of what is wrong with you. I will pray for you. Thanks again,

Guest guest
Another name is Conn's Syndrome. It is a condition where one or both adrenals over-produce aldosterone. If one is over-producing, it is curable by removing the adrenal with the tumor. If both are over-producing, it is idiopathic hyperplasia and is treatable only with an aldosterone-blocking med. Val -----Original Message----- From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of menomama Val, what is aldosteronism? I have never heard of it before? Guest guest
Oh Crap! Val I didn't know this was going on with you. I'm so sorry. I read about this when I was " losing it " with my own health, not knowing what was going on. And thought it would be just aweful to face something like that! Thyroids and adrenal glands are not " appendexes " ... they're necessary to keep ... that sucks. Please let us know how it turns out. And break a leg for the best outcome. (cuz you know a broken leg is much easier to fix!) warm wishes, julie > > Another name is Conn's Syndrome. It is a condition where one or both > adrenals over-produce aldosterone. Guest guest
Thanks, . I'd rather have a broken leg. I have been on an aldo-blocking med for three months. It did drop my blood pressure way low but it did not block all of the negative effects of excess aldosterone. I'm praying for a tumor to be found.
