Guest guest
Sounds like you are in a Hashi's flare. Unfortunately, it happens. Maybe journal and see if you are doing anything unusual? Have you been unusually stressed out lately? I think usually people with Hashi's complain about TSH only tests when it comes to lowering their dosage. When you're TSH is high, obviously, you won't feel well. Unfortunately, often times when your TSH is under 1 docs want to lower your dosage, but many of us only feel well under 1. It sounds like you may just be under-medicated? I'm sorry, I'm sure you feel like poop. Hope you find some answers. I know how many here feel that TSH is a poor indicator of thyroid function. However, during routine blood tests by two different doctors (internist & endo), my TSH levels were drawn 9 days apart. (I thought I was getting the full Thy panel with the endo, but apparently not). Just 13 days ago TSH was 8.9, 4 days ago it said almost 12. What would cause it to jump almost 4 points in 9 days? I take Armour 2gr once a day. Thanks in advance,
Guest guest
, This clearly shows you are NOT absorbing the Armour. Are you taking iron supplements yet? You need to be! If the iron binds your bowels try taking extra magnesium. Also, magnesium should help with that. Plus magnesium is needed for successful iron and vitamin C absorption. Take Vitamin C with the iron, too. It could that your body isn't readily absorbing the Armour. You could ask to be switched to another NDT med such as Nature-Throid or NP Thyroid to see if that helps. But do not be surprised if NO med works. FIX your iron status ASAP if you want to the NDT to do its job efficiently. Wishing you wellness, ~Bj > > I know how many here feel that TSH is a poor indicator of thyroid function. > However, during routine blood tests by two different doctors (internist & endo), > my TSH levels were drawn 9 days apart. Guest guest
,This is EXACTLY what happens to me!!!! I think it's a "flare up" because it's autoimmune. I have been told that I may have to adjust my meds every few months for the rest of my life because of this. I would demand a Free T3 and Free T4 test (I finally insisted) and it sounds like you need more grains! You are not getting enough. When I first found out about this disease and was put on synthroid, my TSH went down to 0.003 and the Endo took me OFF completely for 6 weeks- the next blood test...TSH was 75! She said she's never seen it that high and NOW believes I have a thyroid problem. She had terrible bedside manner....I left and never went back! That nearly killed me! There is such a learning curve with this thyroid stuff! Thank goodness for this group!Good luck !!! Guest guest
hi nope be very careful of the doctor who told you that you will have to change Dosagse cuz of changing TSH levels/tests/.. one shouldn't be changing doses of their Thryoid RX hormone based on TSH levels changing! in fact, if you are dosed properly , your TSH will be supressed (IF you are a hashis/autoimmune hypot patient) PER SYnthrodi PRescribing LIterature as well as the good/current MDs (liek alternative and holistic MDs, NDs etc) RE: Why would TSH levels change like that /and within 1 week !? the fact is that a number of things affect our TSH level on a daily and hourly basis. our Immune system and our stress system 'chemicals' direclty affect our TSH level are HUGE factors. other things affect teh TSH level via affecting the HYPothalamus' TRH hormone too! and etc. Autoimmune Thryoid disease is a full out Limbic/Hypothalamus/ Neuro Immuno Endocrin imbalance and the Old fashioned way of practicing Thryodi hOmrone/ hashis/hypot or etc is Seriously flawed! don't waste years of your life like i did (Diagnosed in 1973 and left sick for 40 years ,,right in time to slam into menopause thanks to my MDs and " Modern Medicine " who taught them every thing (ha they know. Please read good " Alternagtive MDs " and NDs and chiros on both Hashis, hypot and " Adrneal Fatiuge' (aka UPregulated stress system and Stress-response by the Brain due to Imbalances of Neuro immuno endocrin and LImbic stress (many caused by the SAD diet and SAD Lifestyle > > > ,This is EXACTLY what happens to me!!!!
