Ive been dealing with wicked nasal congestion...and more and more it seems like the antihistamines arent doing the job. Im waking up stuffier than when I took them at bed time. 2 nights ago I didnt take it at all....woke up fairly clear. Last night, took Benadryl vs Zyrtec....woke up this morning somehwat congested but still able to breathe through my nose. I didnt take any more all day..and at 1030p Im still good. And...I hate to admit this since in the future it will be part of my job to counsel ppl about being compliant with their meds, but Im not taking my flonase every night either. Guest guest Posted April 22, 2011 Report Share Posted April 22, 2011 I don't know whta our pollen levels are at the moment, though my eyes were really stinging the other day (though this could have been pollen, but could also because I'd stupidly forgotten to take my contact lenses out the day before!)But we've had a smog warning issued for England and Wales. I'm in an urban area but very close to countryside, so hopefully it won't be too bad. I live really high up, and from the carpark of the flats I live in you can see right over the city, so we may be above it if it affects us at allJennTha can tek t'lass outta Yorkshire...! Yesterday I was taking my morning shower. Once a month, I do a breast self exam. No, I didn't find a lump in a breast, I found a place in my right side just under my ribs, where my kidney is. It's about the size of a golf ball and yes I have a dr appointment Wednesday morning. The reason I ask, is that I know a gal where I live who was negative to the weeds, tree and grass pollens but had an allergy fit every time the wind blew from the West. Finally the doctor checked her for cow dandruff since there are a number of dairies West of town. She tested off the chart for cow dander! Who knew there was even such an allergy to get? I've been in Ohio when the pollens were in the single digits but leaf mold was 36,000 ppm, enough to throw me into a major allergy/asthma attack. JoAnn in S. Guest guest Posted April 22, 2011 Report Share Posted April 22, 2011 Have you tried taking zinc-20 or more mg., and vitamin C 1000 mg. daily, I started doing that about a year ago and have not had any problems with allergies or the common cold, except once I had sinusitis but I upped my dosage the first day and am now doing just fine with pollen and other allergies. I'm just Finishing up a round of antibiotics for a sinusInfection. Hope you didn't have to go up too high. R u stress dosing or will u beOn it longer?
