Guest guest
Thanks so much Gerry. He definitely has an old soul. There are many times in life that I follow as my example. I can now say it is tomorrow that he comes home...I could jump out of my skin. I appreciate all of your support. I really means more than words can say. Hugs to you- Sandie -- Re: Gerry OT Sandie- The more I hear about , the more impressed I am. No wonder he was selected for this trip. Your son is going places in life! Gerry Re: Thank you in caregiving Sandie Like you I can count many times my Mom would silently say Thank You. When I combed her hair and she would smile at me or when I would make her favorite meal. Like you I also have been having a missing Mom week. She passed away this past Sept and I am still going thru some of her things. I ran across my Mommy Bible (the black notebook I kept all her appointments in and the things I wanted to ask the doctors.), I read some of the things I wrote and the tears started. Then I put on some of her music and felt her near me. The last month of her life was the worst. She had become very angry and hurtful. I knew it was Lewy talking and not her but it still was hard to take at times. The worst part was not being able to hug her because she hurt to be touched. They had her on morphine at the end to ease the pain. I was fortunate to be there when she took her last breath. This is suppose to be supporting caregiving and the wonderful Thank Yous you get if you look for them. Its not an easy road to travel but it is worth it. I am glad you and have kept on giving advise to all the caregivers in this group. Kudos to you both. Glad to hear is having a good time. He will have so many stories to tell you when he gets home. Prayers to you and your family, Jacqui from Fl Caregiver to Irene Mercier for over 3 yrs. 24/7 most of the time. Died 9/2005 in hospice unit. She went there 19 days before she died because of meds.
