Guest guest
I think they hate it because its not something that they sell...ie theres no benefit to them by acknowledging its a decent shampoo. I had someone tell me once that the Suave professionals (Nexxus) formula was nothing but alcohol...Ann Re: Re: Steroid step down. To: asthma Date: Friday, 22 April, 2011, 4:14 ,All good advice. Here is my experience. I have tried mayonnaise, vinegar rinses, olive oil, and all kinds of conditioners (including leave ins and very expensive ones). As I said earlier, I have finally found something that works on my hair. Believe it or not it is one of the cheapest conditioners you can by. Suave Professionals line. It is the almond and shea butter (in a green bottle). I was absolutely shocked. My hair feels like hair again. As far as the lotions go, try the Vaseline. My husband has psoriasis, and he loves it for daily use. However, it does not do it for me at all. My stretch marks still crack and bleed. I have tried about every over the counter (even greasy ones like Eucerin) to no avail. I thought maybe someone had a home remedy of some sort. In the past week I have been experimenting with making my own bath bombs. I am playing with the different oils and have found a recipe that seems to work well (although it does not fizz). The nut oil tends to smell a bit funky though. I like the feel but not the smell. I will let you know when I find one that feels good and smells good (not rancid or irritating). I have found the dishwasher to be an extreme hazard myself. It seems to be at the perfect height to cause a lot of damage. I have had to learn to shut the door before moving from one side to the other as my skin wants to gash open at the smallest brush on the corner of the darned thing.Willow,This group has been my lifeline. In the beginning the only good advice came from this group, and since then, it helps me stay sane. It is invaluable to have a place we can discuss, rant and rave, or even just whine and be understood. Kay,I am soooooo glad to hear from you. I do not like it when you go off the grid. Yep the steroids are the most likely culprit for your skin and hair issues. They affect every system in the body. Try the Suave conditioner I mentioned above. I don't know if it will work with your hair type, but it is cheap and worth a try.Hugs to all. Breathe easy!Madeline
