An Update/Merry Christmas!

  Hello To All My Chiari Friends,

  

 Well it's been a very interesting time I've had the past 6 months.  Especially

the past 5 weeks.  I've been to the ER 5 times admitted into the hospital 5

times and had surgery.

  If you remember my last post I had a blood clot in my lung. I think I've had

that for about 6 months along with a ruptured artery.  After I got on the blood

thinners for my blood clot the internal bleeding got out of control and I

developed a large Hemotoma.

 But I praise the Lord for how He  took care of me and kept me  alive the past 6

months.  When I went to the Er for the 4th time after the CT scan that showed my

Hemotoma was getting bigger. The ER Dr. told me that if we don't take care of

the Hemotoma that'll kill

me and if we don't take care of the blood clot then that'll kill me.

 The truth is that if the Lord can keep me alive 6 months with a ruptured artery

and a blood clot, then it's really up to Him when I die.  My heart is overjoyed

with how great and mighty my God is.

Psalm 77:13b 14a says " ...who is so great a God as our God? Thou art the God that

doest wonders... "   That's my God.

  My red blood cells got so low I had to have 3 blood transfusions. I praise the

Lord for the Lord giving the Dr.s the wisdom to know what to do. As the Lord

answered prayer concerning this.   Since I am a really complicated case.  I am

so thankful to be alive.   I'm home spending Christmas with family.   

As a born again Christian I found that when my life is hanging by a thread the

Lord gives a wonderful peace that is beyond understanding.  I can trust Him to

do what's best.  No matter how bad

things may appear to be. 

If I were to go into eternity I knew I'd be in heaven with the Lord because

there was a day I repented of my sins and put my faith and trust in the the

Death, Burial and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

 It isn't because of who I am but because of Who Jesus is.   I've been out of

the hospital for a week now.  It feels so good to be on the recovering side of

life.  It has truly been a long and grueling haul.  I was in a wonderful rehab.

hospital, where I got great treatment. 

 During this journey I met a Neuro.  who I could talk to about CM/SM.  He used

to work at UCLA.  That's where he was exposed to CM/SM patients.  This Dr. did

not have a attitude of being above knowing about CM/SM.  He was very open to me

giving him info. I've learned.

  Like the related disorders that go with CM/SM, CM 0, etc.  When I told him

about the symptoms others and myself have had.  Like breathing problems,(that

are not asthma related) heart arrhythmia's, drop attacks, sleep apnea etc. 

 He got it!!!    He said it all made sense since CM involves the brain stem. 

What a refreshing experience that was.  He did say he didn't know what POTS was

and how it was related to CM.  This Dr. was so nice to me and it was great to be

able to talk to a Dr. about CM/SM and not have him be on the defensive. 

 As far as talking to the average Dr. about CM/SM goes.  The minuet I ask them

if they know anything about CM/SM or are willing to learn about it.  I've

instantly put them on the defensive.

 Twice after conversations about Chiari with this Dr. he THANKED me for giving

him new info he didn't know about.  Go mark it down, that was a first.

  This by far has been my best Christmas yet.  I

have waht's really important.  Those are things money can't by.  I have the

Lord, my life, a wonderful family, and church family, as well as friends I've

met here who pray too.
