Guest guest
Does any one have any experience in treating clients with this bacteria. A friend asked me if i could treat her chronic diarrhoea.I havn't taken a case history. She was recommended antibiotics for this bacteria , but would rather not take them. If there are any herbs specific i would be interested I was thinking to treat her symptomatically, constitutionally and to use thyme, poss Myrrh, Berberis, for the bacteria. thanks Haskel
Guest guest
Hi Haskel, As far as I'm aware, Glycyrrhiza glabra radix is useful for inhibiting H. pylori, however as it also has a laxative effect it should probably be used with caution in a patient with diarrhoea. Guest guest
I've once treated it, with success. I gave capsules containing equal parts of these powders: Slippery elm, Oregon grape root, Golden seal, Rosehip and Cinnamon. Two capsule three times daily. Relief from symptoms was immediate, subsequent tests were negative, no recurrence. Also gave teas to support general constitutional health. In a case of H.pylori with diarrhoea, I'd give agrimony tea and probably some kind of deep vulnerary to heal the gut wall, plantago or calendula depending on the Px. If tissue is compromised, think of alfalfa or horsetail to aid healing. Turmeric is drying and may be useful as an antiinflamm. if the diarrhoea has been long term. Also would support the liver, always necessary when treating the GIT. Guest guest
In a recent study by Cwikla et al, published in Phytotherapy research, Agrimonia eupatoria, Hydrastis canadensis, Filipendula ulmaria and Salvia offi cinalis were the most active herbal extracts in inhibiting the growth of H. pylori. Guest guest
Thanks for your efforts in responding to my H. Pylori enquiry. I did give the lady a prescription with Thyme and Agrimonia and wormwood for the bacteria. She was taking a bowel cleanse herball mixture prescribed by a colonic therapist, which contained rhubarb and cascara, so taking her off that should immediately help the diarrhoeia. She also had a cough which she had had since the winter, hence thyme seemed to fit for both bowels and lungs. I also gave her Schizandra and Cimicifuga for tonics related to the lungs , relaxation and for their gentle astringency. Also gave tea with Marshmallow, and meadowsweet, and coltsfoot plus extras for flavour. thanks Haskel > > > Does any one have any experience in treating clients with this bacteria. > A friend asked me if i could treat her chronic diarrhoea.I havn't taken a case history.
