Guest guest
Hi Kathy, When you say you had blood sugar issues, do you mean low blood sugar? I"m dealing with this really bad right now, and can't get it under control. I think I have always had issues and they pop up more severely here and there, but this time, it's really bad. Every time I try to use Cortef or adrenal support it makes the low blood sugar worse. Can you tell me what adrenal extract you are using? (sorry if you have already mentioned this. My brain is fried) Thanks! Are you waiting until you are finished withyour testing? How can you even make it through the day? Are you ableto tell because of the way that you feel if your cortisol is high orlow? For example in the morning when it is high you get the revvingbut how do you feel at noon and 4 pm? Do you get different symptoms(maybe adrenalin zaps, fatigue) then?I read Val's answers to you on the adrenal forum. One thing shementioned was to get the 24 hour urine cortisol test. Have you donethat test? I know very little about adrenal issues and do not knowwhy that test would be significant except to make sure that you hadevery test available. I did not see any recommendations to you otherthan tests though. It would be very frustrating to me to get everytest available but not forge ahead with treatment especially now thatI know how HC can make me feel so much better. You mention glucose control. I never knew glucose control was relatedto cortisol. I used to have blood sugar problems. During the pastyear that I have been using adrenal extract and increased my adrenalsupplements, I have noticed that I no longer have the blood sugarproblems that I used to have. So maybe even though the adrenalextract and extra Vitamins (C, were not completely eliminating myadrenal problem they did help my blood sugar issue. Or maybe it isnot related to that at at but instead going gluten free has helped more. Guest guest
Hi Val, Yes, I've been doing that. I think the stress of all that I've been going through has just really caught up with me and my body is so unstable. Thanks! I cannot say if the Adrenal extract has helped myblood sugar problem or not. I used to have low blood sugar problems(since I was a teenager). My diet has changed though and I eat lesscarbs and more protein and more fat than I ever used to eat. Thetopical HC has not made a difference either way with my blood sugarissues. One thing that I have noticed is that with the HC cream if I am notcareful with the dosing (take too much at one time) I can feel asensation that is similar to low blood sugar. It feels similar but Iam certain that it is not low blood sugar because it resolves on it'sown without eating. Are you certain that the sensation that you feelis low blood sugar? Have you experimented with HC cream to see if youget the same low blood sugar effect? Maybe your dose is too high? Have you tried just 1 mg at a time? Ican feel 1 mg of HC cream especially in the morning. I read through some posts on the Adrenal group over the weekend. Oneperson said that they had less side effects with cortef if they tookLicorice and reduced their HC dose. Have you ever tried licorice? Ihave not been able to figure out a good dose of licorice yet.
